Piano Tuning in Stoke-on-Trent
The Potteries have always been part of our round. From the six towns that make up Stoke-on-Trent to the market towns on its edges, GEV Chapman & Son has been tuning pianos here since the business was founded in 1979 — a craft running alongside the region's own deep manufacturing heritage.
Tuning in Stoke-on-Trent
A local tuner, with a concert-hall standard.
Stoke-on-Trent — the six Potteries towns of Hanley, Burslem, Tunstall, Stoke, Longton and Fenton — has been part of our tuning round since 1979. The city's heritage of making and craft sits naturally alongside the work of a family business that has spent four decades getting pianos right.
We tune for families across the Potteries, as well as in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Leek, and the surrounding villages. Many of our customers here have been with us through more than one generation of the Chapman family — a relationship that is, frankly, the thing we are most proud of.
Every piano in Stoke-on-Trent receives the same Steinway-trained standard we bring to Birmingham Symphony Hall. The craft does not change between the stage and the front room.

“I have been getting my piano tuned by GEV Chapman & Son for several years now, and I can't praise them enough for their workmanship. The piano tuner is always on time and if I notice a problem in the run up to the tuning it is always fixed no matter how long it takes them.”

“Chapman (father and son) have been tuning our piano since about 1985! They have always been lovely to work with, professional, courteous, prompt and reliable and most importantly the piano always sounds wonderful once they have finished. I wouldn't go anywhere else to get our piano tuned. Highly recommend.”

“John has been visiting us for many years now, replacing his father who first tuned our piano over thirty years ago. He has looked after the same piano in all that time and always manages to restore it to concert pitch whatever the state of tuning he finds. He is always on time and is very professional, managing to complete the tuning efficiently and yet finding time for catch up conversation. It is a pleasure to have him visit and to watch a skilled technician at work. We recommend him without hesitation.”

“GEV Chapman & Son have been tuning my pre-1960s family pianos for about 15 years. His knowledge, interest & care for the pianos I have had (old & not expensive pianos) is excellent and as a result they have always played beautifully. The service is very professional in terms of administration of appointments etc and he is always reliable & on time. A first class service at a very reasonable cost.”
